"This happened to us this summer. We had set off for a two-day hike with a bivouac at Lac de la Hourquette. Everything was going very well until 2 a.m., when the storm hit us.
Not heavy rain, but lightning galore! A real disco. We were very, very scared. In particular, one bolt of lightning probably struck less than 50 meters from us, making the ground shake and being as loud as can be.
We'll check the weather twice next time, haha. But aside from that, the hike was incredible."
